ZOOM MEETING POINT
PROFESSIONAL MEETING
One of the main events taking place as part of Zoom Igualada is
the Zoom Meeting Point, an organised professional meeting point
themed around TV Films and the television sector, with the aim of
making the Festival a point of reference in the European audiovisual
calendar.
Aims:
· To promote contacts amongst producers from Catalonia and
the rest of Europe.
· To promote activities related to the audiovisual sector.
· To become a platform from which to promote and publicise
new products related to the audiovisual sector.
1.- The Audience Share Mysteires. Presentation by Ricardo
Vaca, manager of Barlovento Comunicación, a well-known
and respected company specialised in the study of television audience
share of nation-wide and regional and local channels (
www.barloventocomunicacion.com).
The main points in the discussion will be:
1. How is audience share measured (measuring methods, samples and
universe, measuring systems and hardware, and application of basic
terminology)
2. Programming trends and strategies in television.
3. The fights in TV competition. Evolution of TV audiences.
2- THE SPECTATOR’S FORUM
Analysis of two TV films screened for 10 spectators from
outside the audiovisual sector.
In the Forum there will be the spectators, the producers, directors
and actors of the films (pending confirmation).
3- PREMIÈRE OF PODCAST-VIDEOS PRODUCED BY UNESCO
UNESCO has undertaken the initiative of placing new
Information Technologies at the disposal of the promotion of contents
related to development and human rights.
Within the framework of the Unesco initiative of using IT for
the benefit of the audiovisual industries and public TVs in developing
countries, ten video podcast were selected from ten different
countries for the concession of funds for their production.
The following ten productions will be screened:
1. I love you (Mozambique)
2. The Ice Cream Man (Nigeria/Bénin)
3. Goats, camels and books (Kenya)
4. Hablamos (Guatemala/USA)
5. Incident Love (Mexico)
6. The boy who loves flowers (Philippines)
7. Shiva: The third eye (India)
8. Women and human rights (Iran)
9. Being fed up (Italy)
10. Diversité culturelle en Afrique (CIRTEF, Pan-African).
