GENERAL FESTIVAL COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS 2008


AIMS

The aims of ZOOM IGUALADA FESTIVAL are the promotion and diffusion of European TVMovie, and to bring the spectator closer to these productions that can only be seen on the TV screen.

In order to achieve these aims ZOOM IGUALADA promotes this festival from the 5th to the 9th November 2008.


CATEGORIES

There will only be a single competition category in the official section ZOOM TV:

· TV Movies. Mini-series episodes are excluded.

All production companies, TV channels and directors may join as long as they have the due legal control over the films in the competition.


GENERAL CONDITIONS

Competing films will comply with the following requirements:

· The films will be of European nationality, regardless of whether they have been financed in cooperation with other countries.

· Production will have been finalised after 1st January 2007.

· The films that had been screened by television in Catalunya, will not to be accepted

· The films will be presented in their original language. If that language is not Catalan or Spanish, an English or French written translation of the dialogues will be required.

· No films introduced in previous editions of ZOOM IGUALADA will be accepted.

· The organisers of the festival will select those films that will join the official section of the competition.

· The participants will ensure that the joining rights do not interfere with any rights of any third parties linked to the production of the joining film.


DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR PRE-SELECTION

The Following documentation will be required:

· An integral copy in videographic format of the film (in DVD zone 2 system)

· Duly filled in registration form with all the required information together with three pictures in paper or digital format of the film before 14th July 2008.

DOCUMETNATION REQUIRED FOR SELECTED FILMS

· The organisers will advise the films that have been selected via the contact person pointed out in the registration form.

· Selected copies will have to be presented in one of the following format:

-Betacam sp-pal

· Copies and the promotional material will have to arrive to the organisers before 15th September 2008.

· Copies in Betacam will be returned, while copies in DVD o sent for pre-selection will be kept for ZOOM IGUALADA’s archive.


CIRCULATION OF COMPETITION COPIES
Expenses for the sending of the copies of each selected film from the place of expedition to the Festival will be met by the production companies and / or the directors.

Expenses incurred in the return of the selected films to their producers will be met by the Festival.

Copies received by the Festival which are not selected will become part of ZOOM IGUALADA’s archive.

Copies of the films joining the Official Competition section will have to be received by the Festival organisers before the First of October, 2008, and the expedition date and means of dispatch will be advised by the sender.


SELECTION AND JURY

Decisions by the jury will be binding and definitive. The directors of the Festival reserve the right not to admit, once selected, those copies which do not meet the technical conditions required for public exhibiting.

The official jury will be made up of professionals from the cinema and TV sectors who will decided the prize to the best TV movie, the best director ant the best script.

The Young Jury composed by a group of young people who decided the prize for the best tvmovie, by the supervision of a professional

At the same time, there will be a jury composed by three critics of television, who will decide the Critic Prize to the best tvmovie.


AWARDS

The awards will be as follows:
Zoom Award for the best TVmovie: 3,500 €
Zoom Award for the best Director: 750 €
Zoom Award for the best TVmovie script: 750 €
Zoom Critic Award for the best Tv movie
Zoom Young Jury for the best TvmovieThe final decision on the awards and their delivery will take place during the closing ceremony of the Festival, on the 8th November 2008.


NOTES

· The various awards will not be granted desert.

The members of the jury may grant two awards to the same film.

· The Public Award will be for the film with the most votes after the counting of the popular voting forms which will have been previously filled in and freely placed in the voting booth by the audience.

· The awarded money will be subject to the legal requirements at the time of the delivery by the Organisers, and will always be included in the said amount. The organisers may make video copies of the selected films, which will become part of their archive destined to the audiovisual diffusion with non-lucrative purposes.

Nevertheless, the Organisers will always advise the film producers of the use of their films.


PROGRAMME

During the Festival, the organisers reserve the right to exhibit the selected films in as many public sessions as they see fit. An exhibition programme will be put together in which all the information regarding screenings, times and calendar will be advertised.

All the films shown during the Festival, either in the Official Section or in other sections, will be advertised in the Official Festival Catalogue.

MEDIA

Production companies and directors joining the competition Official Section, when handing in the registration forms, authorise the use of one or various cuts of their film to be used as information / press material by any media.


ADDITIONAL DISPOSITIONS

These Terms and Conditions may be amended, before the starting date of the Festival, and all the involved parties will be previously advised of these changes.

The registration of a film in the Official Section for the ZOOM IGUALADA Festival will mean the agreement and compliance with the above Terms and Conditions and any future changes to these.
