PRIZES TO THE EVEN TRAJECTORY ZOOM IGUALADA 2007

Fernando Guillén

Ferando Guillén has a long standing relationship with TV fiction. His public image is easily related to the screen, as his stare and his voice filled in the old black and white stories that mesmerised young and old long ago.

His TV debut was at the beginning of television in Spain, in 1958, with the adaptation of Nightmare, by William Irish, under the direction of Juan Guerrero Zamora. At that time TV fiction was based on theatre adaptations. A very famous programme was Novela (1963-1973), which adapted plays like El Cristo de la Vega, La Casa Maldita, or a biography of Madamme Curie, amongst others, and was one of the main programmes in the new TVE’s Estudio 1 (1966-1980).

During his fourteen year run it became one of the most popular faces on the screen. He appeared on famous series like La nissaga dels Rius (1976), Los gozos y las sombras (1981), Los jinetes del alba (1991) and, more recently, Hospital Central (2002) and Motivos personales (2005). He has also appeared in countless series, programmes and TV films as a guest star, like La otra historia de Rosendo Juárez (1990), Yo estuve aquí antes (2000), La habitación blanca (2000) or El tránsfuga (2003). In this fifth edition of the Zoom he will premiere his latest contribution to this format with Jo, el desconegut (2007), which takes part in the Secció Oficial del Zoom TV.

Sílvia Tortosa

Sílvia Tortosa has worked for most of her career on television. Before turning 20 she started on TV with the series Autores invitados (1996). A few months before that she had had her cinema debut with La tía de Carlos en mini-falda. Her first steps in acting, though are from when she was 15 in theatre. Her studies were Art in the Massana Academy and later Dramatic Art in the Barcelona Institut del Teatre.

Tortosa started appearing on the TV screen during the seventies with series like Curro Jiménez, or drama programmes like Teatro de siempre, Novela, or Estudio 1. Since then, she appeared on popular programmes like Historias para no dormir, La huella del crimen – in the episode entitled El caso de Carmen Broto, by Pedro Costa, which is being screened in the CULT TV section of the Zoom -, Hostal Royal Manzanares, Vecinos, Éste es mi barrio, and Hospital Central.

She has also presented genearlist TV programmes like Aplause, had a stint as a singer, and this year she has published the book Mi vida oculta (publishd by Planeta), a book where she expresses her feelings regarding her unstable personal life and her work, respected by the public and critics in theatre and television, but still pending on recognition by the cinema.

The general public will always remember her character in the film La senyora (1987), by Jordi Cadena, which broke all clichés, and with which she aimed to make a stand agains those who criticised her for not taking up roles in pseudoerotic films during the time of the destape. She always wanted to be real to herself in her cinema roles, where she worked with the likes of José Luis Garci, Jesús Franco and Antonio Mercero.
