Sinopsis:
They're from two worlds that rarely intersect and almost never interact,
even in Berlin: Can, a swaggering young Turk with a supersize ego;
and Simon, an affluent university professor. It's Simon's son Felix
who brings them together. Drawn into Can's unwholesome orbit, Felix
is too weak to break away from his friend's pull. Simon thinks he
can solve this problem, like so many others, through rational discourse.
But when this leads nowhere, he has Can arrested for drug dealing.
The Turkish youth is doubly humiliated: by Simon and by his own
father, who disowns him as his son. Can may be inarticulate, but
he is clever. Embedding himself into Simon's world - his home, his
life, the lives of his wife and son - Can unmasks the falsity and
hypocrisy of Simon's comfortable upper-class world. Now it is Can's
turn to humiliate his tormentor. Having lost his honor, Can has
nothing left to lose; but how long will Simon, a man with everything
to lose, put up with Can?
